As a digital provider, Wise has built security features into its app, website, and processes, so your money is protected. Here are a few of the Wise card features which can help you manage your card safely and conveniently.
Freeze and unfreeze your Wise card in a couple of taps whenever you choose to. If you’re not planning on using your card for a while - or if you’re ever unlucky enough to misplace it - you can freeze it so no transactions can be made using the card.
Once you find your card, or when you choose to use it again, just unfreeze it in the app to start transacting again.
Here’s how to freeze or unfreeze your Wise card in the Wise app or desktop site:
- Log into the Wise app, or desktop site, and go to your card tab
- Choose the card you want to manage
- Select Freeze card / Unfreeze card
Generate Wise digital cards instantly in the app, adding another layer of security to your online shopping.
Your digital card does not have the same details as your physical card. This means you can use it for a one time transaction and then instantly delete it if you’re concerned about security, without needing to re-order a physical card.
You can have up to 3 Wise digital cards at a time, and replace them up to 3 times a day. We’ll look at how to get a Wise virtual card in a moment.
Your Wise card comes with monthly ATM and payment limits which are set as a default. When you get your card, the daily limit is automatically set to be the same as the monthly limit, but you can change this in the Wise app easily if you would prefer to have a lower daily or monthly limit to suit your transaction needs.
Here’s how to view and change your Wise card limits:
- Log into Wise online or in the app, and go to the Card tab
- Select Limits in the Wise app, or Edit limits on web
- Select Spending limits or ATM withdrawals, depending on the limit you want to adjust
- Set your limits and Save
It’s good to know that there’s always help on hand if you need it. If you have concerns about your card, or any transaction on your account, you can get help from an agent 24/7 in English by opening an in app chat, requesting a call or sending an email.
Simply log into your Wise account, go to your profile, click Help and select the relevant topic you need assistance with.
