The good news if you’re wondering how to cash out in GCash: it’s easy. GCash has 413,000 cash out partners² which makes getting your GCash balance in your hands as PHP cash is simple. Plus if you’re overseas, you can use your GCash card at an ATM to withdraw local currency wherever you are, subject to currency conversion and ATM fees.
This guide looks at how to cash out GCash in store³ and at an ATM, including how to cash out GCash in 7-eleven outlets, and a look at the other partner locations you can choose from.
To cash out at a GCash partner outlet, you’ll need your GCash linked mobile phone and your valid government issued ID. We’ll look at the process you need to follow in just a moment.
Aside from cashing out at a partner location you also have another couple of options:
- Cash out at an ATM using your GCash card if you have one, at an ATM in a store like 7-eleven
- Cash out at RCBC ATM using scan to withdraw if you’re a fully verified GCash account holder⁴
You’ll have more options available to you for using GCash if you’re a fully verified user, so if you’ve not already completed this step, now might be the time.
The GCash cash out fee may depend on the way you decide to withdraw your money. If you are cashing out at a GCash partner location, you’ll need to check the fees which apply in the specific provider. Fees may vary depending on the value of your cash out, for example.
If you’re cashing out using your GCash card at an ATM, look out for the ATM charges when they appear on screen⁵. These are set according to the provider of the specific ATM terminal, and are typically up to about 18 PHP per withdrawal if you’re in the Philippines. If you’re overseas, you can use your card at eligible ATMs, but bear in mind you’ll pay an ATM fee, and there’s likely to be an additional charge to convert your GCash PHP balance to the currency you’re withdrawing in.
If you use the RCBC ATM scan to withdraw service, there’s a service fee of 18 PHP per withdrawal.
The exact process to cash out via GCash Partner Outlets may vary a little depending on the outlet you select. However, the staff will be able to guide you through what you need to do, so it should be simple enough. In most cases you need to follow the steps below:
While you can cash into GCash at a 7-eleven by generating a barcode using a Cliqq terminal⁶ in store, and handing the money to a 7-eleven teller, you can not cash out at 7-eleven without a GCash card.
If you have a GCash card you’ll be able to use an ATM in a 7-eleven to conveniently make a cash withdrawal from your GCash balance. Just follow the normal steps for getting cash at an ATM, and remember to keep an eye out for withdrawal fees charged by the terminal operator.
As we’ve seen, you can get cash from GCash if you have a GCash card using an ATM - or you can use the scan to withdraw service as long as you have a verified account. Your other option is to use a GCash partner to get cash over the counter.
Let’s look at where you can cash out GCash at GCash partner outlets which allow you to get cash over the counter.
- Pawn Shops - including Cebuana Lhuillier, CVM Pawnshop, Jaro Pawnshop and M. Lhuillier
- Puregold supermarket
- Payment facilities - including ExpressPay, Panalo Express, PeraHUB and Posible
