The AU ixigo Credit Card is a lifetime free card, but it’s important to note that there are still some fees which may apply depending on how you transact. Using your AU ixigo Credit Card in an ATM, for example, means paying a cash advance charge of 2.5% - and there are also possible late payment fees if you don’t repay your bill on time.
The other fee that’s well worth noting here is the reward redemption fee of 99 INR + GST. This can reduce the value of smaller redemptions, so it’s worth checking whether the rewards you’ll actually use are higher than the cost of redeeming them.
Here are the key AU ixigo card costs to know about
| Charge | Amount² |
|---|---|
| Joining fee | No fee |
| Renewal fee | No fee |
| Forex markup | 0% |
| Reward redemption fee | 99 INR |
| Cash advance fee | 2.5% |
| Late payment fee | 15% of amount due |

The ixigo AU Credit Card has a 0% forex markup, but this doesn’t mean every international transaction is free. ATM fees, interest, taxes or dynamic currency conversion costs may still apply.
Using your AU card in an overseas ATM costs 2.5% in cash advance charges, plus GST and possible interest or late payment penalties if you don’t pay in full and on time, for example.
Wise works differently. Wise isn’t a credit card provider, and so your Wise Travel card operates like a debit card with no interest to worry about and no late payment fees.
With the Wise Travel card, you can hold foreign currencies before your trip and spend from your balance. If conversion is needed, Wise uses the mid-market exchange rate and shows the fee upfront. That can help you keep down costs and manage your budget with no surprises along the way.
One of the major perks of the ixigo AU Credit Card is that you can get lounge access depending on how you spend. Usual perks include:
Additional Priority Pass lounge visits, or domestic lounge usage above those included in your plan, may come with charges of 35 USD each.
For the ixigo AU Credit Card, you can apply online in a few simple steps - but first, you’ll need to ensure you’re eligible, to avoid wasting time.
The ixigo AU Credit Card eligibility requirements include:
You’ll apply for the AU ixigo Credit Card online or in the ixigo app. The exact process you need to follow may depend a little on the route you use for the application and the personal details and documents you can provide.
Here’s an outline of the steps to take:
The AU ixigo Credit Card can be a good pick for people who use ixigo regularly for bookings and travel planning. Earning rewards as you spend can be a great perk - but remember that the redemption fees may eat into your reward opportunities, so saving a high number of points before redeeming might be the best approach. You can also access app discounts on bookings, which can be appealing.
The AU ixigo Credit Card may not be as good a fit for customers who prefer to spend with debit rather than running up a credit card bill, or those who want to hold foreign currencies before a trip. Wise might be a good solution here, with ways to hold 40+ currencies for spending with mid-market rates and low, transparent fees.
With no hidden markups, the Wise Travel card is a smart way to spend abroad. You'll always get the real interbank exchange rate for conversions across 40+ currencies. Wise's transparent, low pricing, plus no foreign transaction fees or forex markups, usually means you are getting the best value for your money.

The fully digital account opening and vKYC process allows you to sign up from the comfort of your home, and there are no annual or monthly fees either. Simply order your card, show proof of your travels, load your funds, and you're all set. Plus - card orders are currently free to Indian addresses (limited time launch offer, while stocks last)! A physical Wise card enables you to make secure chip and PIN payments and get some free ATM withdrawals while you're overseas. You can also instantly freeze or unfreeze your card in the app anytime for peace of mind.
Wherever your travels take you, the Wise Travel card is the only forex card you'll need to make spending internationally simpler and cheaper.
