Building the future of global money movement

Matt Parish

Moving money should be as fast and convenient as sending a text message. In Q4 last year, we took further steps in making this a reality.

Our mission is to bring fast, low-cost, and transparent payments to everyone, everywhere. We do this by enabling our partners – from global institutions like Morgan Stanley to digital-first leaders like Nubank and Qonto – to plug into our global payments infrastructure.

By the close of 2025, we introduced several key enhancements to our payments infrastructure. From messaging upgrades to hosted onboarding, here is how we’re evolving to help you and your end customers move money with speed and confidence:

Hosted onboarding: Expand without complexity

Partners can now leverage Wise’s KYC in regions where they don’t have licenses. They can do this by embedding Wise’s own onboarding solution straight into their product with customised branding to make it an embedded flow. It allows partners to go live fast, reduce build and maintenance costs, and offer a streamlined onboarding journey for their end customers, with agents operating 24/7.

This is already available in: Singapore, the United States, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom and India (individuals only).

Swift ISO: Seamless migration

Wise Platform offers a Correspondent Services Solution, which allows our partners to use our payments services by instructing us over Swift. To continue providing a smooth service to our partners, we made the migration to the industry-wide Swift ISO standard in advance of the deadline in November 2025. This means that partners were able to switch from MT103 and MT202 messages to pacs.008 and pacs.009 messages without any interruption.

Furthermore, we have expanded our support to include the full suite of cancellation and return messages – camt.056, camt.029, and pacs.004.

This enables automated reconciliation and provides standardised reason codes for every return, giving partners transparent, fast resolution times for recalled or rejected payments.

Sweep: Instant liquidity

We’ve just simplified the way partners move money out of their Wise Account. Wise Platform now allows partners to automate sweeping funds from their Wise account to their external account on a regular schedule. This simplifies managing liquidity and reduces the funds left overnight with Wise through a simple configuration that can be set up quickly.

Onboarding API: Keeping full control

For partners wanting to keep full control of the onboarding UX of their customers, we have released a new API that specifies KYC information required. This can be used to submit what is collected by the partner directly. The first version of this region-agnostic API is currently optimised for UK business requirements, but will soon support requirements for all regions where Hosted Onboarding is available.

Funding via direct debit: Keep your customers in-app

We’ve heard from partners that their customers want to go through the end-to-end experience of booking cross-border payments without leaving the partner’s platform. Specifically by pulling funds automatically from their external bank account rather than doing this operation manually. To enable this flow, we have launched a new direct debit API for partners to pull funds from GBP (via Bacs), EUR (via SEPA) and USD (via ACH) bank accounts of their customers. We have also built the foundations to add more currencies to this API as demand grows.

We’re constantly looking for ways to enhance how our partners experience our infrastructure – so they can offer fast, low-cost, and transparent global payments to their end customers.

Have questions about these updates or want to explore how to implement them? Reach out to the team – they’d love to discuss your cross-border payments objectives.
