How to change address and contact details in Barclays bank?

Just moved house? You’ll have a long list of jobs to work through, including telling your bank your new address.

If you’re a customer at Barclays Bank, read on. We’ve put together a handy guide on how to change your address with Barclays in the UK, including how to do it online, by phone, in a branch or in the Barclays mobile app.

How to change contact address and details in Barclays Bank?

There are lots of different ways you can change your contact details with Barclays. So if you’ve changed address, have a new phone number or email address, you should be able to get your account updated quickly. Let’s look at the options available.

On the Barclays app

If you have the Barclays mobile app, it’s pretty easy to update your contact details. However, you won’t be able to do it if you’re a Business or Wealth customer, or if you have a Barclays mortgage.¹

Here’s how to change an address on the Barclays app, step-by-step:¹

Open the Barclays app and login
Tap the profile icon on the home screen
Choose what you’d like to update - whether it’s your home address, phone number, employment information or email address. If changing your address, you’ll need the three-digit code from the back of your debit card.
Enter the new information
Tap ‘Save’ when prompted.

On Barclays online banking

You can also change your details by logging into your Barclays online banking. Here’s what you need to do:¹

Login to online banking
Select ‘Profile’ from the top of the homepage
Go to the ‘Personal details’ section and select ‘Contact details’
Scroll down the page to update your email address and phone number
Enter your new details, and again to confirm
Click ‘Save’.

To update your address, you’ll need to follow the same process, but using your PINsentry card reader or Mobile PINsentry.¹

Over the phone

If you’d prefer to speak to someone, you can call Barclays to change your address over the phone. Simply call one of the following numbers:¹

0345 734 5345 for Personal customers
0800 924 7365 for Premier customers
0345 605 2345 for Business customers.

You can also tap ‘Direct call’ in the Barclays app.

In branch

The last option available at Barclays is to change your address in branch. You can find your nearest local branch here. As it's one of the UK’s biggest banks, there are lots of locations to choose from.

You don’t need to make an appointment in advance. Simply pop in with your Barclays debit card and a valid photo ID, such as your passport or driving licence.¹ You should only need this, as proof of address shouldn’t be required. A member of staff will help you update your details.

How long does it take for Barclays to change your address and details?

Whichever method you use to update your details with Barclays, the changes should be made pretty much straight away. The details the bank holds for your Barclaycard and any joint accounts will also be updated at the same time.¹
