How to change payment method on DAZN: step-by-step guide

Emma-Jane Stogdon

If you watch boxing nights, NFL Game Pass, or other live sports on DAZN, keeping your payment details up to date is just as important as remembering the kick-off time. You might have changed banks, received a replacement card, want to move DAZN to a different account, or are trying to avoid extra fees because your card is billed in another currency.

Whatever the case, going to DAZN to change the payment method can help you avoid failed payments and an unexpected loss of access right before the next big sporting event.

In this guide, you will see how to update your payment details directly with DAZN, what to do if you pay via Apple, Google or Amazon, how to fix declined payments, and how a Wise account and Wise card can help you pay for DAZN and other subscriptions in foreign currencies using the mid-market exchange rate.

How to change your payment method directly with DAZN

If you signed up to DAZN directly, you normally manage your payment details in your DAZN account. You can change your payment method from the My Account → DAZN Membership / DAZN Subscription section1.

On a computer (web browser)

  1. Go to dazn.com and click Sign In
  2. Log in with the email and password linked to your DAZN account
  3. Click your profile icon at the top right and choose My Account
  4. In the DAZN Membership or DAZN Subscription section, click View Info or See Plan Details
  5. Click Change payment method
  6. Enter your new card or PayPal details, or select a different saved method
  7. Click Save to confirm1

On a mobile browser, smart TV or console

You can't usually change the payment method inside the DAZN app itself, but you can open a browser on your phone or tablet, go to dazn.com, and follow the same steps as on the desktop1.

On some smart TVs or consoles, when you go into account or subscription settings, DAZN will open a browser-style My Account page where you can access the same DAZN Subscription section and update your payment method there.

How to update your card or payment method on DAZN

Understanding which payment methods DAZN accepts helps you choose the right option when updating your details. Accepted payment methods for DAZN in the UK include2:

  • Credit cards – e.g. Visa, Mastercard, American Express
  • Debit cards – Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit, etc.
  • PayPal
  • Apple in-app payment (for eligible iOS sign-ups)
  • Google in-app payment (for eligible Android sign-ups)
  • DAZN gift cards, where available

If you pay DAZN directly:

  1. Sign in at dazn.com and go to My Account
  2. Open DAZN Membership / DAZN Subscription and click View Info / See Plan Details
  3. Click Change next to Payment Method
  4. Choose an existing saved payment method, or enter details for a new one
  5. Make sure the card number, expiry date, CVC and billing address are correct and that the card is enabled for online and recurring payments2
  6. Click Save

How to change your payment method on DAZN if billed via a third-party

If your DAZN subscription is billed through Apple, Google Play, Amazon or another third-party, you will not see full payment-method controls in your DAZN account. In this case, the payment method change must be done on the platform you originally subscribed through1.

Apple

If you signed up via Apple in-app payment on an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, you change your card under your Apple ID payment settings, not in DAZN. Here's how to update payment information for subscriptions3:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your name → Payment & Shipping (sign in if prompted)
  3. Tap Add Payment Method to add a new card, or tap an existing method to edit details
  4. Use Edit to remove older cards or change the order in which Apple charges them

Google Play

For DAZN subscriptions billed via Google Play, you manage your payment method in the Google Play Store or in your Google Account's payments section. On Android4:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions
  3. Tap Subscriptions, choose DAZN, then select Manage or Update payment method if available
  4. Pick an existing card or tap to add a new payment method, then save

Amazon

In some markets, DAZN can be billed via Amazon, for example, through certain Fire TV or Amazon subscription flows. When Amazon is your billing provider, you change billing information by selecting Change next to your payment method for that subscription5. The general process is:

  1. Sign in to amazon.co.uk and go to Your Memberships & Subscriptions
  2. Find DAZN
  3. Click Manage Subscription → Change next to the payment method
  4. Select a different saved card or add a new payment method, then confirm

What to check if your DAZN payment is not working

Even after you update your card, payments can fail. Common reasons a DAZN payment might be declined2:

  • Card details are wrong
  • Insufficient funds or credit limit
  • Card not enabled for e-commerce or recurring payments
  • Country / region mismatch
  • Temporary bank or network issues

Steps to troubleshoot a failed payment:

  1. Check your card – confirm details, expiry and address in your bank app or on the card itself
  2. Update the payment method in DAZN – re-enter the card in My Account → DAZN Subscription → Payment Method → Change, or try a different payment method
  3. Look at your bank notifications – some banks show the reason for declines in their app
  4. Try again later or use another browser – if DAZN is briefly unavailable or your browser is caching old data
  5. Contact your bank – ask if there are blocks on international, online or recurring payments
  6. Contact DAZN support – if everything looks fine on the banking side, use the "Need Help?" button on DAZN to reach their help centre and live chat

How DAZN handles repeated failed charges

DAZN does not usually cancel your subscription immediately after the first failed attempt. Their billing pages indicate they track your next billing date and may give you a chance to update your details before your access is affected6. Typically, the pattern is:

  • DAZN attempts to charge your card on your billing date
  • If the payment fails, they may notify you by email or flag an issue in My Account
  • They can retry the payment after you update your card, or automatically over a short period
  • If payment still cannot be collected, your DAZN access may be suspended until a valid payment method is added and successfully charged

Switch to Wise to save on currency conversion fees

If your DAZN subscription is billed in a different currency, for example, if you signed up while abroad or use DAZN in another European market, your UK bank may add hidden mark-ups to the exchange rate and extra foreign transaction fees. Over time, those small charges can make your sports streaming noticeably more expensive.

Using a Wise account and a Wise card can help you control and often reduce those currency conversion costs. The Wise multi-currency account lets you hold and convert 40+ currencies, sending and spending money using the mid-market exchange rate with low, transparent fees*.

You can then use your Wise debit card online and in-store in over 160+ countries, including for digital subscriptions like DAZN.

Why use Wise for your international subscriptions?

With a personal Wise account and Wise card, you can:

  • Add the Wise card to DAZN just like any other debit card
  • Hold multiple currencies such as EUR or USD and let Wise convert at the mid-market rate*
  • Top up in GBP, convert to the currency used for billing, then let Wise charge that balance at the mid-market rate* when your subscription renews
  • Forget to top up? Wise uses auto conversion so as long as you have other currencies held within your Wise account. For example, if you have both pounds and dollars set up in your account, if you run out of pounds, Wise will auto convert from your dollars balance for a small fee, starting as low as 0.33%* - so you can avoid missing payments
  • Use the same card for multiple international subscriptions (DAZN, music, video, cloud storage) while keeping conversion fees low and transparent*.

For anyone who watches sport across borders, or who moves between countries, this can be a simple way to keep subscription costs under control. Because Wise is not a bank, there are no monthly account fees for personal customers, and pricing is clearly shown before you convert or spend.

Steps to set up the Wise card as your new DAZN payment method

  1. Open a Wise account Sign up for a Wise personal account online or in the Wise app - it’s quick and easy
  2. Order and activate your Wise card Request a Wise debit card from within your account, then activate it in the Wise app (you can also get a Wise virtual card to use straight away online)
  3. Add or convert funds Top up in GBP and, if needed, convert into the currency DAZN uses for billing in your region (if you don’t have enough in your account in the right currency, Wise will autoconvert from another currency for a low fee* which means less chance of bouncing payments)
  4. Find your card details in Wise In the Wise app, view your card number, expiry date, and CVC
  5. Update your DAZN payment method to Wise Sign in to dazn.com and go to My Account → DAZN Subscription / DAZN Membership → Click Change next to Payment Method → Choose Add new payment method and enter your Wise card details → Save your changes

Using Wise to pay for your subscriptions

Keeping your DAZN payment method up to date is the easiest way to avoid missed renewals or losing access just before a big match. Updating your card when you change banks, get a replacement card, or move payments to a new account helps prevent declines and payment reminder emails.

A Wise account and Wise card can make this even smoother, especially if you pay for subscriptions in different currencies or share them with others.

You can hold and convert money at the mid-market rate for low fees*, then spend in 40+ currencies with your Wise card to help cut international fees on DAZN and other services.

If you split DAZN with friends, family, or housemates, Wise's Split Bill and Spend with Others features let one person pay with their Wise card while everyone else quickly sends back their share in the currency that suits them, even if they live abroad.

If you want a truly international account that works around the world, check out the Wise account. It's not a bank account but offers some similar features and your money is safeguarded.

You can open a Wise account online and start managing your money in 40+ currencies. When sending money internationally or converting currency, you’ll only pay a low, transparent fee* while also getting the mid-market exchange rate every time.

You can also get the Wise card to spend like a local from the moment you arrive. It works in 150+ countries and automatically converts your pounds to the local currency whenever you spend, only adding a tiny, upfront currency conversion fee* – or it’s free if you already have the currency in your Wise account.
