What kind of limits does Revolut have? We’ve put together a list of the different limits – and each one will be covered in this article.
When paying with a Revolut card, you'll encounter several limits. If you prefer using your physical card over Google or Apple Pay, be aware that contactless payments are limited to 150 EUR.
Revolut also has weekly limits for specific merchants. These include:
If none of the above situations apply to you, you can pay with your Revolut card without any limits. However, if you want to keep your spending in check, you can set your own limits.
How to set a Revolut card limit? Simply go to the “Home” section of your account, click on the card icon, select the specific card, and then tap the “Settings” button. Next, go to the “Spending limit” and set your desired limit. When you reach your set threshold, the payment will simply not go through.¹
For most currencies, there are no limits on transfers, but it's possible that some of Revolut's payment partners may have them for specific currencies. You'll be informed about this in the mobile app before you transfer money.
Transactions for which Revolut sets limits include:
What is the Revolut ATM withdrawal limit? You can withdraw a maximum of 3,000 EUR or the equivalent amount within a 24-hour period.³ This is approximately 72,600 CZK.
Revolut accounts offer free ATM withdrawals if you stay within a certain sum per month. Once you exceed it, you'll pay a fee of 2% of the withdrawn amount (with a minimum of 30 CZK).
Naturally, the more expensive your Revolut plan is, the higher the upper limit you get: from 4,500 CZK for the free Revolut Standard account, the limits rise all the way up to 55,000 CZK.³
| Account | Free withdrawals |
|---|---|
| Revolut Standard | Up to 4,500 CZK / 5 withdrawals |
| Revolut Plus | Up to 4,500 CZK |
| Revolut Premium | Up to 9,000 CZK |
| Revolut Metal | Up to 22,000 CZK |
| Revolut Ultra | Up to 55,000 CZK |
Revolut is a multi-currency account where you can hold over 30 currencies⁴ and exchange between them freely. For this, Revolut may charge a fee depending on the specific currency combination and the day (fees apply on weekends).
For the Standard and Plus plans, Revolut also has a money exchange limit of 25,000 CZK. Once you exchange more than this in a month, you'll pay 1% with a Standard account and 0.5% with a Plus account on every subsequent exchanged amount.⁵
❗Caution: All transactions that require currency exchange are counted towards the exchange limit. In addition to money exchanges within the account, this includes transfers, card payments and withdrawals, and even cryptocurrency withdrawals.

Revolut sets a temporary limit on newly added cards for how much money you can top up to your account within 24 hours. This amount is individual and determined by an automatic security system that considers several different factors.
This daily limit resets every 24 hours. After a period of regular app usage and building a Revolut financial history, you will be able to increase it.⁶
Generally, there is no limit to how much money you can add to your account via bank transfers. However, specific transfers may have additional limits (the app will always inform you about this).
You may also encounter an annual top-up limit. This includes all top-up methods, including internal transfers, card top-ups, and Apple/Google Pay top-ups. This limit is set automatically and cannot be checked or changed in the app beforehand.
In the case of receiving a very large transfer, Revolut may exceptionally ask you to provide proof of the origin of the funds.⁷
You can have up to 6 physical payment cards linked to your Revolut account. This limit applies to each account type separately. For example, if you have one personal account and one joint account, you can have up to 6 active physical cards for each.⁸
You can have up to 20 virtual cards and 1 disposable virtual card linked to your account. However, you can create a maximum of 4 new virtual cards within a 30-day period (including the disposable virtual card).⁸
You can hold as many cryptocurrencies as you wish on your Revolut account.⁹ There is no upper limit. You may only encounter limits when exchanging or withdrawing.
Revolut allows you to perform up to 200 exchanges within 24 hours. Each of these exchanges also has a minimum and maximum limit, which depends on the specific cryptocurrency.¹⁰
Revolut has set daily and monthly limits for cryptocurrency withdrawals. The monthly limits reset after 30 days. You can view the specific limits directly in the app. You can find them as follows:
With Revolut, you can buy and sell stocks regardless of your monthly plan. However, your plan type limits the number of trades from which you will generate net profit. After exceeding this limit, Revolut charges a percentage commission on your trades with a set minimum fee of 28 CZK.¹²
| Account | Number of commission-free trades |
|---|---|
| Revolut Standard | 1, then 0.25% |
| Revolut Plus | 3, then 0.25% |
| Revolut Premium | 5, then 0.25% |
| Revolut Metal | 10, then 0.25% |
| Revolut Ultra | 10, then 0.12% |
Your knowledge about Revolut limits now knows no bounds. If you want to limit your spending, consider a Wise account, which you can set up for free. You'll have access to 40+ currencies and a fair mid-market exchange rate.
