Ultra Japan is the Tokyo edition of the global Ultra Music Festival. It’s one of Asia’s biggest EDM events, known for large-scale stage production and international DJ lineups.
For 2026, the festival will take place at Tokyo Odaiba Ultra Park¹ over two days, from 19 to 20 September 2026². Gates are expected to open in the morning and run into the evening, although the full schedule hasn’t been released yet.
The official lineup for Ultra Japan 2026 has not been announced yet.
Lineups are typically released in phases in the months leading up to the festival. Based on previous editions, you can expect a mix of global headliners and underground electronic acts.
Recent editions have featured major international DJs across multiple stages, including:

Ultra Japan 2026 tickets are priced in Japanese yen (JPY). If you’re buying from outside Japan, the final amount you pay can vary depending on how your card handles foreign currency transactions.
Many credit cards charge a foreign transaction fee of around 2–4%, depending on the card issuer. Some cards may also use their own exchange rates, which can add extra cost on top of the ticket price.
Check out how much it costs here:
Based on current Tier 1 prices (approximate conversions):
Conversions are approximate and based on 30 March 2026 exchange rates. Actual costs may vary depending on your card provider.
Using a card with no foreign transaction fee, such as the Wise card, means you pay using the mid-market exchange rate with a transparent conversion fee. This helps you avoid additional markups when buying tickets or paying for other travel costs in Japan.
If you’re planning to buy multiple tickets or higher-tier passes, it’s worth checking your card’s foreign transaction fees before completing your purchase.
Ultra Japan takes place in Odaiba, a waterfront district in Tokyo.
The venue is well connected to the rest of the city by public transport, making it easy to reach from most areas in Tokyo. The Yurikamome and Rinkai lines both provide direct access to the festival site.
If you’re travelling internationally, planning early helps keep costs down and gives you more flexibility.
Flights to Tokyo are available from most major cities worldwide. You can arrive at either:
Once in Tokyo, getting to Odaiba is straightforward via train, so there’s no need to arrange special transport. Most travellers use prepaid transport cards like Suica, which you can tap for trains, buses and even small purchases. Here’s a guide to using a Suica card in Japan.
Your choice of accommodation depends on how you want to balance convenience and price.
Attending Ultra Japan involves more than just buying a ticket. You’ll also need to budget for flights, accommodation, transport and daily spending.
One common mistake when travelling internationally is how you pay. When given the option, always pay in local currency (JPY) instead of your home currency.
Some payment terminals offer to convert the amount for you, but this usually comes with a worse exchange rate, known as dynamic currency conversion.
Japan is increasingly card-friendly, but cash is still useful in some places.
Sorting your money before you travel can make things simpler. If you’re coming from abroad, you can convert your currency to JPY in advance using a service like Wise. It uses the mid-market exchange rate with a transparent fee, so you can see the real cost before you spend.
Entry rules depend on your nationality.
Many travellers - including those from Singapore, the US, UK and EU countries - can enter Japan visa-free for short stays, typically up to 90 days⁴.
Always check official government sources before travelling, as requirements can change.
September in Tokyo is warm and humid, with temperatures typically between 22°C and 28°C. Rain is possible, so it’s worth preparing for changing weather.
Bring comfortable shoes, lightweight clothing, a portable charger, and a light rain jacket to stay comfortable during long festival days.

Travelling to Tomorrowland Thailand means paying in Thai baht for tickets, accommodation, food, transport, and festival spending. Using a regular card can add hidden costs through foreign transaction fees and unfavourable exchange rates. The Wise card can be a useful travel companion for festival-goers.
The Wise card lets you spend in 40+ currencies at the mid-market exchange rate, including MYR, JPY, CNY, USD, EUR, and more. It can be used in 150+ countries, so you know you’re getting a fair rate wherever you travel. To get started, create a free Wise account, order a card, and top up in your local currency.
Digital Wise cards are free and can be added to Google Pay or Apple Pay, while a physical Wise card can be ordered for a low one-time fee (pricing varies by country). A physical card allows chip-and-PIN payments and includes two free ATM withdrawals each month (up to a set limit), before low fees apply.
When spending abroad, you can either pay directly from your balance and let auto-conversion handle the exchange, or convert to the currency you need in advance. Either way, Wise uses the mid-market rate you see on Google, with low, transparent fees. You can also activate Wise Interest to earn returns* on supported balances, meaning your travel money could keep working for you until you spend it.
