Landbank¹ offers popular account services for people who want to save, manage their money across different currencies, and get an easy access transaction account with an ATM card. Different Landbank accounts have their own features and fees, and may also have minimum deposit amounts you must consider when selecting the right one for you.
This guide looks at how to open an account in Landbank, including the deposit requirements and options to start your application digitally. We'll also introduce the Wise account, a handy companion to make your money go further with low, transparent fees.

The process to open an account with Landbank requires you to show your ID documents in a branch - and at the same time you’ll need to make your minimum opening deposit, which varies depending on the account type you've selected.
Landbank offers a Peso Savings Account with ATM card³ which allows you to easily access your money when you need it.
This account also has a significantly lower minimum opening deposit amount compared to the standard passbook account. As fees apply when your account falls below the minimum deposit needed, this may make the ATM savings account an attractive option for new customers who don’t want to leave a significant sum of money in the account.

If you don’t have the minimum required balance in your account the fall below fee of 200 PHP applies. There’s also a dormancy fee of 30 PHP a month if you don’t use your account regularly. This applies if you don’t transact for 2 years and your account balance falls below 10,000 PHP.

You can also get a passbook savings account⁵ in Landbank which can be in PHP or USD. Some branches are also able to offer savings accounts in euros - EUR accounts do not have any interest earning opportunity at the time of research.
When you open your passbook savings account with Landbank you’ll need to make the minimum deposit amount, which varies according to the account selected. If you don’t maintain this deposit there may be a fee to pay of 200 PHP, or 5 USD for the US dollar account.

You can apply for many Landbank accounts on a joint basis. You’ll need to specify when you complete your application form that you want to open in joint names.
Joint accounts may be offered on an ‘AND’ or an ‘OR’ basis. If you have an ‘AND’ account, all signatories are required to agree when you transact, while with an ‘OR’ account, and one signatory can act on behalf of the others⁶. You’ll need to select the type of account you want when you apply, so it’s important to note the different options when you decide.

You can start to apply for your Landbank account online by completing your application form but you will still need to visit a branch to show your ID and get verified. If you’re more interested in having a fully online application, verification and onboarding experience you might need to select a different bank or provider.
Here are your options for opening an account with Landbank.
While Landbank offers some online account opening options, the process is not fully remote. You can start your application using the correct form for the account type - so the Landbank personal account form for individual customers⁷, for example - and then make an appointment to go to a branch to show your ID and get verified.
You’ll be able to find all of the application paperwork on the Landbank website, which is easily completed using drop down boxes and prompts. Once you’ve completed the application form for your account type you can take your valid ID document or documents to the branch closest to you, along with the money for your opening deposit, to complete your application.
You can also choose to complete the whole Landbank account opening process in a branch if you prefer. In this case simply take along the ID documents you need and your deposit payment. A member of the bank team can talk you through the application paperwork, and verify your ID on the spot. You’ll be asked to make your opening deposit payment before you can start to transact with your new account.

The initial deposit to open a Landbank account can vary depending on the account you select. The Landbank savings account with ATM has a relatively low minimum deposit amount of 500 PHP but the standard passbook account requires you to deposit 10,000 PHP.
