Eligible customers can open a Maya eWallet to spend in person and online, with options including physical and virtual cards, and QR payment functions. You can also use your Maya wallet to receive payments - known as a cash in - from others, or by topping up your account yourself².
This guide looks at where to cash in Maya, if you’re planning on adding money to your own account, or if someone is planning on sending you money locally or from overseas. We’ll cover how to cash in Maya in 7/11 stores in the Philippines, and also how someone could use a card or bank account to send a payment to you easily.
Depending on your account usage you might be able to cash in to your Maya Wallet for free up to a limit of 8,000 PHP per month³. This process allows you to add money to your account at select convenience stores, malls, supermarkets, and payment centers, and then receive a voucher for rebate if you are charged any fees for cashing in.
If you choose an over-the-counter cash in location which charges a convenience fee, the exact costs of your transaction depend on the specific location you visit - but this can add a charge of 2-3% of your total cash in amount⁴.
When you add money to your account you’ll still need to pay in any relevant fee, but you can then get a rebate voucher from Maya for any fees incurred when topping up a total of 8,000 PHP a month. Cash in amounts above 8,000 PHP do not qualify for the rebate.
Maya offers several different wallet types, including a basic option and various upgraded account types you can use once your account is verified. While you can still cash in Maya if you have a basic account, you’ll need to get verified to benefit from the full range of Maya cash in options. For example, only verified Maya account users can receive money via QRPH, Instapay, Pesonet and Bank Pull. Getting verified might also help to increase your Maya cash in limit per day, month and year⁵.
If you have a Maya basic account already you can get verified pretty easily in the Maya app. Take the following steps to get verified and access higher limits and more features⁶:
You’ll need to provide some ID to verify your Maya account - there are a few different options here, but if you’re an adult Filipino, the easiest way is to use one of the following documents:

- ePhilID
- SSS ID (digitized with photo)
- PRC ID
- Postal ID (issued 2015 onwards)
- Passport
