    Currency support and exchange rates

    Wise Business account support 40+ currencies for holding and exchange, and uses the mid-market exchange rate for currency conversion, with low fees from 0.61%.

    Revolut offers 25+ currencies for holding and exchange and works a little differently on currency conversion.

    All Revolut Business Ireland plans have a fixed amount of weekday currency conversion which use the Revolut rate with no additional fee - this is from 1,000 EUR/month on the Basic plan to 60,000 EUR/month on Scale.

    After this a fee of 0.6% applies on all conversions. There’s also a 1% fee if you convert currencies in your account, for a payment or when you spend with your card at the weekend.

    Revolut vs Wise business: International transfers

    Wise allows you to send payments to 140+ countries, with fees from 0.61% and the mid-market exchange rate. 74% of Wise transfers are completed in under 20 seconds, although delivery time can vary due to the payment’s destination, currency, value and other factors.

    Wise also offers discounts on large transfers of over 20,000 GBP (or the equivalent in EUR) monthly. Plus, all account holders are eligible for batch payments to initiate up to 1,000 transfers with one spreadsheet upload.

    Revolut offers international payments to 150+ countries, with a fee of 5 EUR. If you have a Grow or Scale account you can get a fixed number of transfers with no Revolut fee before the 5 EUR charge begins. Currency exchange costs may also apply depending on the way you use your account. Revolut batch payments are available on Grow or Scale accounts only.

    Local account details and IBAN support

    Wise offers local account information for 8+ currencies including an EU IBAN, GBP account number and sort code, and ways to be paid locally in USD, AUD, NZD and more.

    There’s no Wise fee for an incoming payment using local account information (non-Swift/non-wire). You can also get Wise SWIFT account information to receive other currencies with a small fee - check all the Wise fees.

    Revolut accounts all come with an EU IBAN, and a GBP account number and sort code. You can also receive other currencies with SWIFT information. Revolut does not charge fees for these payments within your plan limit, or if you’re receiving GBP, USD, EUR, or CHF. In other cases there’s a 5 EUR incoming payment fee from Revolut.
