To apply for the startup bank account, businesses must be in their first year of trading and have a turnover of under £1 million²¹. To apply for the business bank account, you must have a turnover of over £1 million or be trading for more than a year¹.

Euro transactions within the the European Economic Area are free⁹ so convenient if you are trading with the Republic of Ireland. However, other foreign currency transactions will have a charge attached.
