Paying with Simple bank transfer

Simple bank transfer is a free and convenient way to pay for your EUR transfers. It uses Open Banking to let you pay directly through your online banking without leaving Wise.

Where is it available?

Simple bank transfers are available when you're paying with EUR. Whether you can use it also depends on if your bank supports this payment method.

How do I pay?

  1. Set up your transfer and choose EUR as the currency you're sending.

  2. At the payment step, select Simple bank transfer.

  3. Select your country and your bank. If your bank isn't on the list, you'll need to use a manual bank transfer instead.

  4. Follow the instructions to log in to your bank and confirm the payment.

Is it secure? Yes. You’ll enter your details into your bank's own secure page. Wise doesn't see or store your login credentials.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

Wise doesn't charge any fees for using Simple bank transfer. However, your bank might charge their own fee for instant transfers.

The speed of your transfer depends on what your bank supports:

If your bank supports...What happensHow long it takes
Instant transfers for freeThis is the default option.Instant
Instant transfers for a feeYou can choose between an instant or standard transfer.Instant or 1 working day
Only standard transfersWe'll automatically use the standard SEPA credit option.Up to 1 working day

Are there any limits?

Most banks have a limit for online transfers, usually between 5,000 and 20,000 EUR. Some banks also have daily limits.

If you try to send more than your bank's limit, the Simple bank transfer option won't appear. We'll guide you to use a manual bank transfer instead.
