Travel from the Philippines to Singapore: Travel requirements, restrictions, travel time, and more

Singapore is a super popular destination for tourists and overseas workers alike, offering plenty of opportunities for a short trip, or to relocate for the longer term. If you’re considering heading overseas soon you may need to learn about the Singapore travel requirements for 2025.

Philippines to Singapore travel requirements

The Singapore travel requirements previously included covid measures, including vaccination, testing and quarantine - but the good news is that these restrictions have been lifted. Under the Singapore travel requirements for 2025, you don’t need to provide proof of covid vaccination¹, and there’s no testing protocol in place. However, there are a couple of rules which still apply that you’ll need to know about.

The key Singapore travel requirements to plan for now are thankfully pretty simple, and basically require you to complete a couple of forms online - a departure form² when leaving the Philippines, and an arrival card³ prior to landing in Singapore.

Both the departure and arrival cards need you to confirm you are healthy and have not been exposed to contagious or dangerous diseases recently. Follow the prompts to complete the required information, and of course, if you’re unwell, do not travel.

Bear in mind that travel rules and restrictions do change pretty frequently, so you are advised to check the live regulations before you travel, to ensure nothing else is needed.

Singapore travel restrictions for Filipinos

As we’ve seen, there’s no longer a need to provide proof of covid vaccination, or to complete testing and quarantine before you travel to Singapore from the Philippines. Instead, you need to follow these Singapore travel requirements:

• You must complete the Philippine government departure form if leaving to Singapore from the Philippines
• You must complete the Singapore government arrival card before arrival in Singapore
• You may need proof of yellow fever vaccination or other vaccinations, depending on the country you’re travelling from and your recent travel history

The key Philippines to Singapore travel requirements are now the departure and arrival cards, which can both be completed 72 hours before travel, online. If you’re trying to work out when that window opens, it’s pretty simple, as there’s no Singapore to Philippines time difference - just complete the paperwork any time up to 3 days before you head off.

Proof of other vaccinations may be needed for OFWs and seafarers. This may depend on your company or agency, and your travel history. Check the details before you leave to make sure you can comply with all the rules on arrival in Singapore.

Do Filipinos need a visa to Singapore?

On to another important consideration: does Singapore need a visa from the Philippines?

For tourist travel, Filipinos do not need a visa to enter Singapore for a short visit⁴. Generally you’ll be issued a 30 day visa free entry on arrival, assuming you’re coming to sight see. However, if you’re arriving in Singapore for work, the rules will be different - anyone working in Singapore is likely to need an appropriate visa and work pass.

There are a pretty broad range of work passes which are issued through Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower⁵. Generally you’ll need employer sponsorship to apply for a pass - which means lining up a job in advance of travel, and having your employer support your application for a pass. If you’re coming to Singapore to work make sure you have all the appropriate visas and permissions before you plan your travel arrangements.

Flying from the Philippines to Singapore

Now you know what you need in terms of visas, vaccinations and permissions, it’s on to the more practical aspects of planning your trip.

The Singapore to Philippines travel time is around 3.5 hours, depending on where in the Philippines you fly from. Flights are available on around 17 different airlines, with routes from Manila, El Nido, Boracay and Coron among the most popular options. There’s no Singapore to Philippines time difference - so no jet lag to worry about when you arrive.

There are both flag carriers and low cost airlines operating these routes which gives you plenty of options to select the specific flight you prefer. Check out options from Singapore Airlines, Philippine Airlines or Malaysia Airlines for example, or select Scoot, AirAsia or Jetstar which can often have lower overall ticket costs.

Philippines to Singapore ticket price

The Philippines to Singapore ticket price can vary a lot depending on the airline you select, the time of year, and the specific flight time.

The majority of the flights from the Philippines to Singapore depart from Manila - which then also means that this is often the cheapest route available. You can choose a low cost carrier, and the competition between providers drives down the ticket price. At the time of research the lowest available fare is under 4,000 PHP one way.

Departing from other airports in the Philippines does tend to drive the costs up significantly. To give some examples, at the time of writing, the cheapest available option in the near future for a one way flight is as follows:

• Manila to Singapore - just under 4,000 PHP
• El Nido to Singapore - just under 15,000 PHP
• Boracay to Singapore - just over 8,000 PHP
• Coron to Singapore - just under 11,000 PHP

If you can be relatively flexible about where you depart from in the Philippines it may be worth shopping around for flight prices. Taking a short internal flight to connect in Manila may end up being cheaper overall in some cases, although this will take a bit longer than choosing a direct option.
