How do I prove the source of income for my personal account?

This article is for personal customers. If you have a Wise Business account, learn about verifying your business here.

We're a regulated financial institution, and to keep your money safe, we sometimes need to ask for a document that shows where your income comes from. We know this is an extra step, but it helps us make sure your money is secure.

We’ll only ask for this document after you’ve set up and paid for a transfer.

Quick tips before you upload

To make sure we can accept your document the first time, please check that:

  • All pages are included and clearly visible. Don't crop, edit, or hide any information. For bank statements, this means uploading the full statement.

  • The format is correct. We can accept PDF, JPEG, and PNG files up to 10MB per file. We can't accept password-protected files.

  • You upload the correct document. Check the table below to see which document matches your income type.
