How do I set an automatic top-up?

Automatic top-ups help you keep enough money in your Wise account by automatically adding money when your Wise balance drops below a level you choose.

Who can set up automatic top-ups?

At the moment, automatic top-ups are available only to residents of Japan, UK, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia.

If you have local bank accounts in the UK (in GBP) or in Singapore (in SGD), you can set auto top-ups.

How do automatic top-ups work?

You choose:

  • Threshold — the balance level that triggers the top-up

  • Top-up amount — how much money Wise will add automatically

When your total Wise balance falls below your threshold, Wise will create an automatic top-up. When an automatic top-up happens, it’ll appear like a regular top-up in your activities.

How do I set up an automatic top-up?

  1. Go to Payments

  2. Select Auto top-ups

  3. Set the threshold that will trigger the top-up and the amount that will be deposited automatically.

  4. Connect your external bank account (this must be a local UK account in GBP or Singapore account in SGD) and complete the linking steps.

  5. Select Save to finish setting up your automatic top-up. We will notify you for each top-up.

How do I change or cancel an automatic top-up?

  1. Go to Payments

  2. Select Auto top-ups

  3. Select the automatic top-up you want to change. Edit the threshold and the top-up amount and select Save. If you want to cancel auto top-up, select Delete.

What happens when an automatic top up fails?

We will notify you of the failed top-up and will try topping up your account with the same linked bank account the next time you send money or make a card payment. Please ensure you have enough funds in the connected account for that top up transfer to succeed.

How much money can I add to my account using auto top-up?

You can use this method to add a maximum of 5,000 GBP if you are using a local GBP account or 5,000 SGD if you are using a local SGD account.
