You can change your discoverability settings to make it easier for people to send you money on Wise. When you're discoverable, others can find you using your Wisetag, email, or phone number.
How can I search for someone?
You can search for other Wise customers in two ways:
From the home screen — select Send and enter their details.
From the Recipients tab — select Add a recipient, then choose Search on Wise.
You can search for people using their Wisetag, email, or phone number. If you're searching for a business, you can also search by their company name.
Why should I be discoverable?
If you choose to be discoverable, other Wise customers can send you money just by entering your phone number or email. You won't need to share your bank details.
Faster and often cheaper — transfers to an email or phone number are usually instant and may have lower fees.
Automatic currency setup — money sent to you will go into your account in that same currency. If someone sends you USD, it will go into your USD currency. If you don't have one, we'll create it for you.
Customers in the EEA or UK: You need to opt in to receive money via phone number or email. You can check if you're discoverable in your Privacy settings.
Customers outside the EEA and UK You're discoverable via phone number or email by default. You can opt out anytime in your Privacy settings.
All customers are discoverable by Wisetag by default. You can change this in your Privacy settings.
How do contact syncing and discoverability work together?
If another Wise customer syncs their contacts, they’ll only see you in their recipient list if you have phone number discoverability turned on.
If it's on — you’ll appear as a recipient in their Wise account if they choose to add you.
If it's off — you won't appear in their contact list.
You can turn off contact syncing in Privacy and security in the Wise app. This stops Wise from checking your phonebook for new contacts.
We never store phonebook data for contacts who aren't on Wise. We only sync periodically, with your permission, to check for new contacts who have joined.

If you don't want others to find you, you can turn off each option separately in your Privacy settings.
Go to Settings and Privacy and security.
Select Find me by.
Here you can toggle different options to choose how people can find you. You can also choose remove yourself from all existing recipient lists and remain hidden from future searches.
