Open Banking is a secure and easy way to pay for your GBP transfers or top up your account. Instead of manually entering our details in your banking app, we’ll redirect you to your bank to confirm the payment instantly.
We have two ways you can use Open Banking:
One-off payments: A quick, single transfer.
Connected accounts: Link your bank to Wise for even faster payments in the future.
How do I make a one-off payment?
Select Bank transfer as your payment method. Or Simple bank transfer if you are paying in EUR.
Choose your bank from the list.
Select Make a one-off payment.
Log in to your online banking and complete any 2-step verification required by your bank.
Choose the account you want to pay from and select Confirm.
That’s it — we’ll take care of the rest.
How do I connect my bank account to Wise?
When you connect your account, you won't need to log in to your bank the next time you pay.
On your GBP currency, select Add.
Choose Bank transfer and select your bank.
Choose Connect your bank account.
Set your connection limits and expiration date (optional).
Select Go to bank and log in to your online banking.
Complete your bank’s security checks and select the account you want to link.
Select Confirm.
You can manage or remove your linked accounts at any time in your Account Settings under Connected bank accounts.
How do I pay with a QR code?
If you're using Wise on a computer, you can use a QR code to finish the payment on your phone.
After choosing your bank, select the Pay with App tab.
Open your phone’s camera and scan the QR code.
Your banking app will open automatically — log in as usual.
Choose your account and select Pay.
You might be asked to hop back into the Wise app to confirm everything is finished.
Are there any limits?
Most banks have a transaction limit between 10,000 GBP and 50,000 GBP. Some banks also have daily limits.
If your transfer is higher than your bank’s limit, Open Banking won’t be available. If this happens, we’ll guide you to the manual bank transfer option instead.
Good to know:
Your bank won’t share your login details or statements with Wise.
Payments usually arrive instantly, but can take up to 1 working day depending on your bank.
The name on your bank account must match the name on your Wise account exactly.
