Paying for a transfer with Apple or Google Pay

If you have enabled Apple Pay or Google Pay on your device, you can usually use them to pay for your Wise transfers quickly and securely.

How do I pay using Apple Pay or Google Pay?

  1. Open the Wise Android app if you are paying with Google Pay. If you are paying with Apple Pay, open the Wise iOS app or log in to the website using Safari.

  2. Set up your transfer as you usually would.

  3. At the payment step, select either Apple Pay or Google Pay as your payment method.

  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to authenticate and confirm your payment.

Are there any restrictions when using mobile wallets?

Yes, there are a few rules and card restrictions you should be aware of:

  • No Japanese cards: We cannot accept cards issued in Japan for either Apple Pay or Google Pay payments.

  • Local cards only: You cannot use international cards. Your card must be issued in the same region as your transfer's source currency. For example, if you are sending money from Euro (EUR), your card must be issued in the EU.

  • US state restrictions: You can't pay for USD transfers using Apple Pay or Google Pay if your profile is registered in Nevada or US territories.

  • Google Pay: You can use any card supported by your Google Pay account, provided you are using version 3.13.1 or later of the Wise Android app.

What are the payment limits?
