Over the past three months, Wise Platform has continued building strong global momentum with welcoming new partners including leading European commercial bank UniCredit, MBSB Bank, our first partner in Malaysia, leading U.S. marketplace, Upwork, and Indonesia’s fully-fledged digital bank, Jenius. This means that millions of more people and businesses can now use Wise through the apps and providers they already use and trust.

Wise Platform also continued to advocate for transparency and collaboration between banks and non-bank providers at events around the world, including our flagship event, Wise Connect in San Francisco.

Meet our new partners

Jenius

In July, SMBC Indonesia’s digital bank, Jenius, partnered with Wise Platform to bring over six million Indonesians faster cross-border payments, full price transparency, and real-time transaction tracking. Jenius’ customers can now send money abroad in multiple currencies directly from the Jenius app at any time and day throughout the week.

UniCredit

Later in July, we announced that UniCredit, a leading European bank serving 15 million customers, has chosen Wise Platform to enhance their foreign-currency payments offering. With this partnership, UniCredit became the first Italian bank to enable cross-border payments with the same speed, security and simplicity as domestic payments, all via the UniCredit mobile banking app.

MBSB Bank

In August, MBSB Bank became the first bank in Malaysia to integrate Wise Platform into their retail banking app, M Journey. This partnership enables Malaysia's 22 million customers to send money abroad in a simpler, faster and more transparent way, in 12+ currencies including USD, GBP, EUR, SGD, IDR and AUD.

Upwork

In September, human and AI-powered work marketplace, Upwork, partnered with Wise Platform to strengthen its payment capabilities for the customers they serve in more than 180 countries around the world. This partnership enables freelancers transferring their earnings to certain South American, Asia-Pacific and European currencies to benefit from Wise’s speed, low-costs and convenience.

Events

BaFinTech 2025

In Berlin, Manuel Sandhofer, Wise Platform’s EMEA GM, was invited to join a panel with some of Germany's largest banks, Deutsche Bank and Bundesbank, to discuss how private and public sector collaboration helps to reach the G20 cross-border payment goals at BaFin, a conference organised by Germany's financial regulatory authority. Manuel emphasised that giving non-banks access to central bank systems is a crucial step in facilitating competition, future-proofing the system and improving outcomes for consumers and businesses in the region.

Nordic Fintech Week

In Copenhagen, Manuel Sandhofer, delivered a keynote at the Nordic Fintech Week, gathering over 2,000 key decision-makers from the Nordic financial industry. Manuel explained how payments innovation in the Nordics is being driven by the strong collaboration between banks and infrastructure providers in the region and how Wise is making instant cross-border payments a reality for people across the Nordics and beyond.

Meanwhile, Roisin Levine, Head of UK & Europe Bank Partnerships at Wise Platform was joined on stage for a panel discussion by Nordea, Paylume and our Danish Wise Platform partner Lunar. Roisin highlighted that the best way for banks to future-proof against evolving trends and customer needs is by investing in innovation and sustainable partnerships with reliable providers.

Wise Connect San Francisco

In September, Wise Platform hosted its flagship conference in the U.S., bringing together over 100 senior payments leaders from more than 65 businesses to discuss one critical challenge: how to build exceptional payments experiences that enable SMEs to expand globally—and why partnerships have emerged as the most effective way to achieve this. The event saw speakers from organisations including Gusto, Upwork, Melio, Bridge and Wise.

Financial Times Banking Summit

In Hong Kong, Samarth Bansal, Wise Platform’s APAC GM, joined a high-profile panel at the FT Banking Summit on the future of international payments with our bank partners Bank Mandiri and Standard Chartered. Samarth highlighted how we're enabling the shift of consumers expecting their cross-border payments to be instant and transparent and discussed how Wise Platform’s integration with Bank Mandiri has helped grow their customer usage by 30% since launch.

IBSi-Cedar Summit

In Singapore, Flora Shi, Senior Implementation Manager at Wise Platform was invited to join a panel on the future of digital payments panel alongside ANZ, Swift, and Razorpay. Flora discussed how customers now expect seamless, instant payments both domestically and internationally, and that meeting these expectations requires a robust, modern infrastructure.
