Can you send large transfers with Suits Me?

No, Suits Me accounts aren’t really built for sending large transfers - although it depends how much you want to send and what you consider to be a ‘large’ transfer.

The maximum amount you can send in one go with Suits Me is £5,000.¹ You can make multiple transfers, but then you’ll come up against load limits. This is the maximum amount you can load to your card/account.

You can only have a balance of £10,000 at any one time (with a Premium Plus account), so this means regularly topping up after making each transfer. You may have to spread payments out over days too, as limits reset at midnight. There’s also a maximum annual load limit of £120,000, so you’ll never be able to send more than this. ¹

You can make international transfers with Suits Me, but only through its partner Remitly. You’ll need to check what the maximum transfer limits are for this service - although you can also read our guide to Remitly limits.

Suits Me transfer limits

There’s only one transfer limit you need to know about with Suits Me. This is the limit of up to £5,000 per payment

If you need to send more money, it may be possible to send additional payments up to £5,000. This way, you can split one larger payment into smaller ones. You’ll need to let your recipient know if you plan to do this.

Bear in mind though that you’ll need to reload your account each time, and can only have £10,000 at once and load a maximum of £120,000 per year

Unfortunately, Suits Me’s transfer limits can’t be changed. So if you need to send more than this or don’t want the inconvenience of having to send multiple payments, you may need to find an alternative provider.

What’s the maximum amount you can send with Suits Me?

The maximum limit for sending Suits Me money transfers is £5,000 per payment

Can you send multiple large transfers per day?

It’s likely that you’ll be able to send multiple large transfers per day with Suits Me, as it only specifies a maximum limit per transfer.

There’s a chance that extra security checks may need to be made (as multiple, frequent payments can trigger fraud monitoring alerts) but the provider will contact you if this is the case.

When sending an overseas transfer with a Suits Me partner, you’ll also need to check the exchange rate - as well as the transfer fee you see upfront.

It’s always worth checking these rates against the mid-market rate, as many providers include their own mark-up. This makes them a small profit, but makes the transfer more expensive for you. However, you should be able to check the rates upfront before you send.

Wise – A low-cost, transparent alternative for international transfers

Large amount international transfers can be complex and get expensive with hidden fees. High street banks often add a markup to the exchange rate, which can be costly on large sums.

The Wise account, from the money services provider Wise, offers a modern alternative. You’ll get the mid-market exchange rate (close to the one you see on Google) with no hidden markups and low, transparent fees. On a £50,000 transfer, you could save up to £1,000 with Wise vs your bank.

It's not a bank account but offers some similar features, and your money is safeguarded.
