1. About this Supplement
1.1 This Terms & Conditions Supplement is a contract between you as an individual (“you”) and Wise Brasil Corretora de Câmbio Ltda. (“Wise Corretora/us/we”). This document sets out the terms and conditions for making international payments through the Brazilian Pix system by reading a QR Code (the “Pix payment via QR Code”) through your Wise App.
1.2 Wise Corretora acts as the eFX provider for this service, facilitating the currency exchange necessary for global users to pay local Brazilian merchants or individuals instantly.
1.3 This Supplement applies only to your use of the Pix payment via QR Code service while you are geographically located in Brazil, as well as to Pix transactions performed via QR Code scanning, regardless of whether they are conducted remotely. You agree to these terms each time you initiate and complete a transaction.
2. Agreement and Scope
2.1 Service Scope. This Supplement covers the use of the Pix payment via QR Code in Brazil. This service is strictly intended for the acquisition of goods and services (the “Service”).
2.2 Binding Agreement. Each time you make any transaction using the Pix payment via QR Code service, you agree to the terms of this Supplement in its most current form as posted on our website or App in respect of that transaction. Please do not use the Service if you do not agree to this Supplement.
2.3 Modifications and Conflict. We reserve the right to enhance, modify or cancel any features and benefits of the Pix payment via QR Code Service without prior notice. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the terms of this Supplement and the terms of your primary Customer Agreement, your Customer Agreement shall prevail to the extent of such conflict.

3. Glossary
In this Supplement:

eFX Service: means an international payment or transfer service that enables the acquisition of goods and services or the transfer of funds under the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) framework.

Pix payment via QR Code: means the specific action of using the Wise App to scan a QR Code to settle a purchase in Brazil in BRL using Pix.

Sending User: means the individual or business (you) who is the initial ordering party of the international transfer or payment.

Receiving User: means the person or legal entity (the Brazilian Merchant) identified as the final recipient of the payment.

Total Cost: means the full cost of the transaction to you, which considers the BRL Amount, the Exchange Rate, the Total Effective Value (VET), which includes the applicable Taxes (IOF) and the Wise Fee.
4. Who we are and how to contact us
4.1 Wise Corretora means Wise Brasil Corretora de Câmbio Ltda., a limited liability company, registered with the CNPJ/MF under No. 36.588.217/0001-01, with its head office in the City of São Paulo, State of São Paulo, at Rua Girassol, No. 555, 1st floor, Vila Madalena, CEP 05.433-001. Wise Corretora is a brokerage firm authorized by the Central Bank of Brazil to operate in the foreign exchange market and provide eFX services.

5. About the Pix payment via QR Code Service
5.1 The Service is used to pay for goods and services at participating Brazilian merchants and/or individuals by scanning a QR Code (BR Code standard) using your mobile device camera.
5.2 Wise Corretora facilitates the FX operation to settle these commercial purchases in Brazilian Reais (BRL).
6. How to use the Service
6.1 To use the Service, you must have an active Wise Account, the Wise App, and have granted camera permissions.
6.2 The process considers the following steps:
- Select the option to pay via QR Code in the Wise App.
- Scan the merchant's QR Code.
- The App will display the Receiving User information, and the Total Cost of the transaction to you, which considers the BRL Amount, the Exchange Rate, applicable Taxes (IOF), and the Wise Fee.
- Review the Total Cost in your source currency and provide your express consent to the transaction.
7. Limits and Restrictions
7.1 Transactional Limit. Each transaction is limited to a maximum of BRL 10,000. There is no minimum transaction amount.
7.2 Permitted Use. This Service is strictly for the purchase of goods and services.
- Prohibited Uses: It cannot be used for P2P transfers (money transfers to individuals), gifts, or cash withdrawals.
- Redirection: If you wish to send money to third parties for other purposes or spend more than BRL 10,000, you must use the "Send Money" tool in the Wise App, which is subject to its own specific Terms and Conditions.
7.3 Restricted Activities. There are certain types of business and transactions we do not support. These are known as ‘restricted activities’ and we tell you about them in our Acceptable Use Policy. You must read this carefully to make sure you do not carry out any of these activities. If you do, we may stop you from using our Services.
8. Transparency and Disclosures
8.1 Pre-Transaction Disclosure and Consent. Before concluding any transaction, you will be able to consult all relevant information directly in the Wise App. This includes the Total Cost, which is the value in BRL, the applicable exchange rate, Wise fees, and any other fees and taxes (IOF) applied to these transactions. Your confirmation of the transaction (e.g., by clicking “Agree and spend”) constitutes your explicit consent to the values displayed and the terms of the eFX service.
8.2 Finality of Value. The BRL value shown at the time of the transaction is final.
8.3. Transaction Statements. Upon request, Wise will provide a statement for the transaction containing:
- Description of the operation and date.
- Identification of the parties (Wise and the Receiving User, which would be the Merchant or the individual).
- Value in BRL and the value/type of foreign currency used.
- Exchange rate.
- Any other fees, taxes or tariffs charged.
9. Important Notes and Disclaimers
9.1 No warranty for services. Other than expressly set out in this Supplement or in the Customer Agreement, neither Wise Corretora, nor our officers, directors, employees, suppliers, agents and relevant entities make any specific promises about our Services. For example, we do not make any commitments about the quality, safety, legality, or any other aspect of any goods or services purchased with the Pix payment via QR Code service. We act solely as the eFX provider. We are not liable for any loss arising from any merchant refusing to accept a transaction using this Service. You are responsible for losses arising from gross negligence, or failing to conduct adequate due diligence on the merchants you transact with.
9.2 Service Availability. Wise does not guarantee that the Pix payment via QR Code service will always be available or uninterrupted. There may be instances where the Service is unavailable due to technical difficulties with the Pix network (BCB), local connectivity in Brazil, or other factors beyond our control. Wise shall not be liable in any such event. We may suspend, withdraw, or discontinue the use of this Service or any part of our other services without notice.
9.3 "As Is" Basis. The Pix payment via QR Code service is provided to you strictly on an “as is” basis. All conditions, representations, and warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are excluded and disclaimed to the maximum extent allowed under Brazilian law.
9.4 In the event of any unauthorised transaction, you are required to follow the procedure set out in your Customer Agreement.
10. Changes, Liability, and Governing Law
10.1 Amendments. We may change this Agreement at any time by posting a revised version on the App. The revised version will be effective once it is posted. Where appropriate, we may give you notice via email or the App. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you must cease use of the Service. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
10.2 No liability for loss or damage. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wise Corretora and our related entities exclude all liability for any loss or damage of any kind (however caused) arising from or in connection with the use of the Pix payment via QR Code service.
10.3 Hold harmless. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you shall be responsible for and hold Wise Corretora (and our officers, directors, and agents) harmless from any and all loss, damage, liabilities, claims, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your breach of this Supplement, your violation of BCB regulations, or your use of the Service for unauthorized purposes.
10.4 Data Retention. In compliance with Resolution BCB 561, records of your transactions, including identification and FX data, will be stored by Wise Corretora for a minimum of 10 years.
10.5 Governing Law. This Agreement is governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Except as otherwise provided by law, the courts of the City of São Paulo, State of São Paulo, are hereby elected to settle any disputes arising out of this Agreement, and between you and Wise Corretora.
