If you’re a TD customer, you can order foreign currency online in over 50 currencies through EasyWeb and pick it up at your preferred branch within 3 to 7 business days1.
Once your trip is over, you can return to any TD branch to exchange any unused foreign currency cash back into Canadian dollars.
TD customers can easily order foreign currency cash directly from the TD app2. The process is quick and convenient, allowing you to select your preferred currency, set the amount, and choose a branch for pickup—all from your phone.
Step 1. Open the TD app and select More from the navigation bar.
Step 2. Tap Banking Services, then choose Order Foreign Currency.
Step 3. Enter the amount you want to exchange:
Step 4. Use the dropdown menu or search by currency code or name to select a different currency. The foreign exchange rate will appear below the amount.
Step 5. Choose the account from which you want to withdraw.
Step 6. Select a branch to pick up your cash from. Once you've decided on a branch, select Send My Currency Here.
Step 7. Enter your contact information.
Step 8. Review your order and if everything looks good, tap Order Now.
Once your order is placed, you’ll receive a confirmation number and can view your receipt in the app. Your currency will be ready for pickup at the selected branch within 3-7 business days.
If you prefer to order foreign currency online using a desktop, TD EasyWeb allows you to do just that. You can place an order directly from your bank account, choose from over 50 foreign currencies, and pick up your cash at a TD branch within 3-7 business days3.
Step 1. Log in to TD EasyWeb.
Step 2. From the My Accounts > Accounts screen, select the account you want to use.
Step 3. On the Account Activity page, click the Manage tab.
Step 4. Select Order Foreign Currency from the options.
Step 5. Choose your desired currency from the dropdown list.
Step 6. Click Next to proceed.
Step 7. Enter either the amount in foreign currency or the equivalent in Canadian dollars (minimum order: $100 CAD).
Step 8. Select the Debit From account to withdraw funds.
Step 9. Enter the branch transit number where you want to pick up your order.
Step 10. The email address on file will be used to notify you when your order is ready.
Step 11. Click Next to review your details, then click Finish to place the order.
When ordering foreign currency through TD Bank, the total cost depends on currency conversion fees, exchange rates, and account-related transaction fees4.
While TD doesn’t provide a fixed exchange rate online, the bank likely applies its own markup on the mid-market exchange rate.
